The Shout Out

Our pandemic movie. Shot on iPhones by the actors. Neil LaBute called it “a blast.” We were fascinated by the website Cameo and the parasocial relationships that people develop with each other online. It seemed like a fun way to make something that explored our need to connect in the midst of our isolation and it gave us an opportunity to express our rage brought on by our powerlessness over the world around us. And finally, to show the impact of all that rage we spew out into the void.

The Shout Out 2020

A Reality Star joins Cameo during quarantine and has a meltdown while recording a birthday message for a fan.

A comedy starring Elizabeth Masucci and Patrick Zeller.

“This short film is a blast from beginning to end; deftly done and hits all its targets. Elizabeth Masucci is hilarious without being obvious or working for it, she keeps it real throughout, both the humor and the pain. I wanted more when it was over and that’s a very good thing!” - Award-winning filmmaker and playwright Neil LaBute.

“Funny,” with “amazing charm,” and a “fantastic performance by Elizabeth Masucci.” -Film Threat

The Shout Out was co-produced with Weekly Humorist, a comedy brand publication run by Marty Dundics, former creative director and editor in chief of National Lampoon.
